Carbaholics Anonymous’s Recipe For Easy Lentil Soup

1 lb. Lentils

2 Quarts of vegetable broth

1 lb. mixed frozen vegetables

1 Red Bell Pepper (cored and minced)

3/4 tsp Ground Cumin

3/4 tsp Ground Turmeric

1 tbsp Italian Seasoning Mix (Oregano, Marjoram, Thyme, Rosemary and Sage)

Salt to taste  (optional)

Red Pepper Flakes  (optional)

Put all ingredients in a covered pot and bring to a boil.  Turn down heat to simmer and cook for 1 1/2 hours.   It doesn’t get any easier than that. The longer you let it simmer, the better it gets.

Carbaholics Anonymous wanted to let you know what is the Best Protein Shake for on the run. Shamrock Farms has the best protein shake for on the run in my opinion.  They taste great, have different flavors & healthy source of protein after running.  There current flavors are chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry.  They are 12 oz containers already pre  made, and can be purchased at most grocery stores.  You can normally get these on sale for about .95 cents or retail is $1.59.  You can either get 20 grams of protein or 30 grams protein out of one bottle.   The 30 grams of protein has 9 net carbs and has 190 calories. So in Carbaholics Anonymous opinion, Shamrock Farms has the best protein shake for on the run.

Low Carb Healthy Ground Turkey Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients

1.5 Pounds of Jenny O Ground Turkey
1 4oz can of Tomato Sauce
2 Large Eggs
1 Tablespoon of Worcestershire
1/3 cup of fried pork skins
1 teaspoon of crushed red pepper for a little zing
1 tablespoon of garlic salt
1 tablespoon of garlic pepper seasoning

Directions

Preheat the over to 375 degrees

In a large bowl mix all the ingredints together forming a large loaf. Before placing it into a pan please use some Pam non stick spray.

Bake for about 35 minutes, and let sit for about 5 minutes before serving… “Your Healthy Ground Turkey Meatloaf” is ready to eat. 🙂

Carbaholics Anonymous gets thousands of emails asking so many different questions.  One of the more popular questions is what is the best protein shake.  I have come to realize you get what  you pay for in this category.  We have all gotten those bargains for 5 or 10 pounds of protein for some crazy amount of money.  Then you go to taste it and its gross, and you can barely choke it down.  So Costco has 100% Whey Vanilla Protein powder in a 6 pound bag for around $33.00 which is amazing price, and taste good all by itself.  I personally like to mix it up and add different berrys and fruits, so I do not get bored drinking the same flavor each time.  This is a  delicious meal replacement.   Your talking about high protein and a low Carb meal replacement that is healthy and has good carbs.  This is better then running to the fast food joint.  So Carbaholics Anonymous recommends Costco Whey Vanilla Protein powder for the best protein shake.
